St. Peter's Church, Malacca

The white church building exhibits Colonial Dutch Baroque architecture with a facade incorporating both eastern and western architectural elements alongside bell towers.

The church emerged in 1710 on land donated by Dutch convert Maryber Franz Amboer, following decades of Catholic persecution during Dutch colonial rule.

The church maintains its role as the central religious institution for descendants of the Portuguese community in Malaysia spanning three centuries.

Regular religious services take place in the church compound, which contains fourteen historical tombstones and remains open to visitors throughout the week.

The church houses a bell manufactured in Goa in 1608, recovered from an earlier church structure that Dutch forces destroyed during their occupation.
