The Beauty Museum displays various beauty tools, artifacts, and practices from different regions, occupying the third floor of the People's Museum building.
Established in 1996, the museum stands in a structure from the 1960s, constructed on the former location of a Dutch colonial building.
The museum presents exhibits about skin tattooing, lip stretching, tooth filing, scarification, head molding, and foot binding from multiple global traditions.
The museum welcomes visitors daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM with an entrance fee of approximately 50 cents for adults.
The exhibitions demonstrate methods people adopted to modify their appearance according to beauty standards across different time periods and societies.
