Dataran Pahlawan, Urban shopping complex in Melaka, Malaysia

Dataran Pahlawan is a large shopping building with multiple levels offering retail spaces, dining options, and entertainment facilities in central Melaka. The building combines different functions across its floors, creating a central hub for shopping and leisure.

On 20 February 1956 a mass rally at this square welcomed the Merdeka delegation returning from London, led by Tuanku Abdul Rahman, who announced that independence would be declared on 31 August 1957. The square was later built over; the Dataran Pahlawan Megamall now occupies the site, with the Independence Declaration Memorial standing in front of it.

The shopping center displays both international fashion brands and local retailers, reflecting how modern commerce and traditional Malaysian business practices coexist in the same space.

The building is accessible with parking available for visitors. Direct walkways connect it to nearby heritage areas, making it easy to explore the surrounding districts.

The square hosted the rally of 20 February 1956, when Tuanku Abdul Rahman announced the independence date of 31 August 1957 to crowds greeting the Merdeka delegation returning from London. The Merdeka Declaration Memorial now stands in front of the square, above the Dataran Pahlawan Megamall.
