Darul Makmur Stadium, Football stadium in Kuantan, Malaysia.
Darul Makmur Stadium is a football and athletics stadium in Kuantan, Malaysia, built around a full-size pitch with a running track surrounding it. It can hold around 40,000 spectators and has parking areas on site.
The stadium opened in 1970 and was at the time one of the largest sports venues in the region. It went through major renovation work in the decades that followed, with a significant upgrade completed in 2011.
Sri Pahang FC plays its home matches here, and on match days the stands fill with supporters from across the region. Watching the crowd gather and cheer is one of the clearest ways to feel how football fits into daily life in Kuantan.
The stadium is located near the center of Kuantan and can be reached by public transport or by car, with parking available on site. On match days the area gets busy, so arriving early gives you time to find your way around before the event starts.
The stadium was designed by Liew Kok Hee, an architect based in Melbourne at the time, which was unusual for a public sports project of this scale in Malaysia. His involvement brought construction approaches that were rarely seen in the region at the time.
