Perlis-Langkawi Bridge, Proposed bridge project between Perlis and Langkawi Island, Malaysia.
The Perlis-Langkawi Bridge is a planned infrastructure project designed to span across the Andaman Sea and link the mainland peninsula with the island destination. This bridge will provide a direct road route for vehicles that currently rely on ferry services to cross between the two areas.
The project was conceived as a regional development initiative to strengthen transportation connections between the mainland and island. A South Korean construction company was selected to lead the building effort across an extended timeframe.
The bridge represents a major infrastructure development for Malaysia, undertaken by South Korean firm Kumho Engineering and Construction to enhance regional connectivity.
Keep in mind that the bridge is currently under development and not yet open to traffic. Once completed, it will provide a faster alternative to ferry travel and reduce overall journey time between the two locations significantly.
The completion of this crossing will represent a major change in how people and goods move through this part of Malaysia. Its construction spans an exceptional distance over water, creating one of the country's most substantial engineering undertakings.
