Sitiawan Settlement Museum, Heritage museum in Kampung Koh, Sitiawan, Malaysia.
The Sitiawan Settlement Museum is housed in a two-story colonial building that holds over 500 historical artifacts from the early years of the Christian Foochow settlement. The structure contains household items, clothing, antique bicycles, clocks, and embroidery pieces from that era.
The building was constructed in 1935 as a residence for pastors of the Pioneer Methodist Church and served that purpose for several decades. In 2003 it was converted into a museum to preserve the history of the early Foochow settlement.
The museum displays everyday objects from the early Christian Foochow community, including traditional tools, furniture, and old photographs. These items reveal the customs and crafts that defined the settlers who established themselves in this area.
The museum is located in Kampung Koh and is easily accessible; visitors should check opening hours in advance since the building is not open every day. It helps to arrive early in the day to view the full collection without feeling rushed.
The site was expanded in 2018 with a new three-story addition containing exhibition halls, shops, and a small cinema. This newer addition allows visitors to linger and relax after walking through the historic building.
