Musaffah Port, Maritime facility in Musaffah Industrial Area, United Arab Emirates
Musaffah Port is a maritime facility in the Musaffah Industrial Area and features a general cargo terminal with multiple private berths for ships. The deepwater channel runs along an extensive waterfront, allowing large vessels to enter and exit without air draft restrictions.
The Abu Dhabi Seaports Authority initiated a major development plan in 1996, leading to the port's opening in 1998. This made Musaffah a key transfer point for trade between the Persian Gulf and inland industrial zones.
The port is closely linked to the industrial zones ICAD I, II, and III, shaping the working identity of the Musaffah district. Thousands of workers pass through the docks daily to begin shifts in nearby factories.
The port is best accessed from the main road running through the industrial area, with the busiest activity visible from early morning through late afternoon. Keep in mind that this is an active business zone, so some areas may be restricted to authorized personnel only.
In April 2013, the first two locomotives for Etihad Rail arrived at this port, marking the beginning of rail transport in the country. This event was a significant moment in the nation's transport infrastructure development.
