The three-meter-tall bronze statue stands on a stone pedestal at the beginning of Zog I Boulevard facing toward the central district of Tirana.
The monument commemorates Zog I of Albania, who transformed from prime minister to president and then became the first monarch of Albania from 1928 to 1939.
The statue represents a period of national transformation when Albania moved from traditional systems toward European governmental and social structures.
Visitors can find the statue at coordinates 41.338889, 19.813333, near other significant landmarks in the administrative district of central Tirana.
The statue unveiling in 2012 coincided with both the centenary of Albanian independence and the return of King Zog's remains to Albania.
