Ancient volcanic eruptions shaped the landscape, forcing hot lava to cover riverbeds and create the geological formation that now forms the Kasakh Waterfall.
The waterfall stands opposite the Hovhannavank monastery complex, which includes the 5th-century basilica of Saint Gregory and the church of Saint Karapet.
The waterfall area lacks amenities or commercial facilities, requiring visitors to bring their own supplies and wear appropriate footwear for uneven terrain.
The water flow varies throughout seasons, with summer presenting the strongest cascade while winter temperatures can transform the falls into ice formations.
