Yervandashat, Archaeological site in Iğdır Province, Turkey.
The archaeological complex stands at an elevation of 1008 meters near the junction of Akhuryan and Aras rivers in eastern Turkey.
The settlement operated as one of the thirteen capitals of Armenia from 210 to 176 BC under the governance of the Orontid dynasty.
The location contains architectural remains of ancient Armenian fortifications, including defensive walls, streets, and residential structures from different periods.
The archaeological area integrates into Turkey's tentative UNESCO World Heritage Sites, making it a location for historical research and documentation.
Stone-carved elements and building foundations reveal construction methods from the 3rd century BC through medieval periods in this border region.
