Armenia Ethnography Museum, National ethnography museum at Sardarapat Memorial, Armenia

The Armenia Ethnography Museum is housed in a fortress-like building at the Sardarapat Memorial and displays a broad collection of Armenian artifacts. The structure features two observation windows that frame views of Mount Aragats and Mount Ararat.

The museum was established in 1968 and sits within the Sardarapat Memorial complex, which commemorates the 1918 battle where Armenian forces resisted Turkish invasion. The location merges the display of everyday culture with memory of a decisive moment in Armenian history.

The exhibits display traditional Armenian clothing, household objects, and craft techniques from different regions of the country. You can see how people lived their daily lives and which skills were passed down through generations.

The location sits about 55 kilometers from Yerevan and is best visited when you plan enough time to explore the different exhibition halls. Since the museum spreads across the memorial grounds, prepare for outdoor conditions and wear comfortable walking shoes.

Two massive winged bull sculptures stand at the entrance of the complex, symbolizing strength and resilience. These imposing statues draw from ancient inspiration and show how the region preserves its history through monumental art.
