Ակնալիճի եզդիական տաճար

Quba Mere Diwane temple in Aknalich is an imposing modern building with a central dome and seven smaller domes covered in Armenian granite and Iranian marble. The complex includes conference rooms, ceremonial spaces, and a prayer hall that together create spaces for religious observance and community gatherings.

This temple was built in 2019 to serve the Yazidi community who had arrived in Armenia seeking safety. The community came to escape decades of persecution and to find a place where they could freely practice their ancient monotheistic faith.

This is a central gathering place where the Yazidi community comes together to observe their faith and maintain their traditions. You can see how their religious practices shape daily life and create connections among members of the community.

The temple is located roughly 35 kilometers north of Yerevan and is most easily reached by car. The journey is relatively short, making it a feasible visit for those wanting to spend time exploring the complex without hurrying.

The main dome is topped with a gold-plated sun sculpture that catches the light and stands out from a distance. This detail merges traditional Yazidi symbolism with the architectural vision of the modern building.
