The Modern Art Museum of Yerevan displays contemporary artworks across multiple exhibition spaces within its building on Mashtots Avenue in central Yerevan.
Established in 1972 by Henrik Igityan, the institution became the first specialized modern art museum throughout the entire territory of the Soviet Union.
The museum presents works from Armenian artists of the 1960s, including Minas Avetisyan, Ashot Hovhannisyan, and Hakob Hakobyan, reflecting local artistic expressions.
Visitors can explore the museum from Tuesday to Sunday between 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM, with guided tours available in Armenian, English, or Russian.
The initial collection formed through direct donations from artists during a period when modern art expression faced restrictions under Soviet socialist realism policies.
