The Paronyan Musical Comedy Theatre is a performance venue near Republic Square in central Yerevan that specializes in operettas and musical theatrical productions. The venue offers a wide range of performances with a focus on entertaining musical works.

In February 1941 the Supreme Soviet of the Armenian SSR decided to create a musical comedy theatre in Yerevan; it opened on 22 June 1942, named after satirist Hakob Paronyan, with Zaven Vardanyan as first director and Tatevos Saryan as chief director until 1954. Early productions included Tigran Chukhajyan's Karine and Shirvanzade's Kum Morgana. Artemi Ayvazyan led the theatre from 1943 to 1945.

The theatre is named after Hagop Baronian, the 19th-century Armenian satirist, and its repertoire has long leaned toward satire and mockery of petty bourgeois life. Its first productions included Tigran Chukhajyan's "Karine" and Shirvanzade's "Kum Morgana". Since 2010 it has hosted the annual Artavazd national theatre awards.

The theatre is centrally located near Republic Square and is easily accessible on foot. Visitors should check ahead for current programming as shows are held regularly throughout the week.

Since 2010 the theatre has hosted Armenia's national theatre prize, the Artavazd, moved here from the Moskva cinema. In 2011 its own production Aregnazan, directed by Shushan Gevorgyan, won Best Youth Performance at the ceremony held in these walls.
