Near East Art Museum, Cultural museum in Kentron district, Yerevan, Armenia.
The Near East Art Museum in Yerevan is a museum dedicated to applied arts with pieces from Russian, European, and Middle Eastern traditions. The collection is arranged across three halls, displaying more than 2,600 objects that visitors can explore.
The museum was established in 1993 from a collection assembled by painter Marcos Grigorian. He created it as a memorial to his daughter Sabrina Grigorian.
The collection displays applied arts and crafts from various Near Eastern and surrounding cultures, visible throughout the halls as you walk. Objects from different periods and regions show how techniques and styles moved between communities and influenced each other over time.
The museum is located on Aram Street and welcomes visitors on most days of the week with different opening hours on weekdays versus weekends. Checking the current hours before your visit helps ensure you arrive when the doors are open.
The building shares its space with the Yerevan Museum of Literature and Culture, creating an unusual arrangement where two separate collections sit under one roof. Visitors can move between both museums without leaving the building, experiencing different perspectives on the region in one visit.
