The Rossiya Cinema building consists of two distinct levels representing the peaks of Mount Ararat through its geometric concrete architecture.
The construction of Rossiya Cinema occurred between 1968 and 1975 under the direction of architects Spartak Khachikyan, Hrachik Poghosyan, and Artur Tarkhanyan.
The cinema served as the primary entertainment venue in Yerevan during the Soviet period, with a capacity to accommodate 2500 visitors simultaneously.
The former cinema building now functions as a shopping center while maintaining its original architectural elements from the Soviet modernist period.
The structure incorporates mathematical precision in its angular design, creating a visual connection between Armenian architectural traditions and Soviet modernism.
