The mural spans three large panels inside the former Maluje Pharmacy building, depicting the evolution of medicine and pharmacy through detailed illustrations.
Created by artist Julio Escámez in 1958, this fresco painting became a National Monument of Chile in 2015 through Decree 370.
The left section portrays Mapuche medicine practices, featuring a woman collecting medicinal herbs and traditional healing ceremonies in natural settings.
Located at 676 Tucapel Street in Concepción, the mural remains visible through large windows designed specifically for public viewing.
The central panel illustrates the arrival of European medical knowledge, while the right section shows modern medicine with portraits of physician Alejandro Lipschutz.
