Termas de Cauquenes

Termas de Cauquenes is a thermal springs facility in Machalí that channels natural hot water from underground sources into several bathing pools. The complex includes various pools at different temperatures and sizes, all fed by the geothermal waters that flow constantly throughout the year.

The facility was established in 1876 and still contains original wooden structures and marble bathing installations from that era. These 19th century elements have remained largely intact, offering visitors a glimpse into how the springs were used over a hundred years ago.

Local communities have long regarded these springs as a place for healing and rest, visiting them for relaxation and relief from physical strain. The baths continue to serve this same role in people's daily approach to wellness today.

The site is reachable by bus from nearby cities with regular connections, making it accessible without a car. Bring swimming clothes, a towel, and slip-resistant footwear since the paths around the hot pools can be slippery and wet.

The complex features rare Carrara marble bathtubs and Spanish ceramic tiles from the 1800s that visitors can still use today. These imported European materials reveal how the springs attracted wealthy travelers during that historical period.
