Sicuani District, Administrative district in Canchis Province, Peru
The district spans over 645 square kilometers at an elevation of 3,554 meters, with the Willkanuta River flowing from southeast to northwest.
The district was formally established during the presidency of Andrés Avelino Cáceres in 1887, becoming a significant administrative center in the Cusco Region.
The Pampacucho Temple, with its traditional altar and religious paintings, hosts an annual folklore festival every August 16th.
The district maintains temperatures between 18 and 21 degrees Celsius during daytime, with annual rainfall reaching 712 millimeters, concentrated between January and March.
The Willkanuta River originating in the district joins other waterways to form the Ucayali River, contributing to the formation of the Amazon River.
