MATE - Museo Mario Testino, Photography museum in Barranco, Peru
The museum exhibits portraits by Mario Testino across eight rooms in a restored 19th-century mansion at Avenida Pedro de Osma 409.
Established in 2012, MATE occupies a mansion from 1898 that underwent extensive restoration to preserve its original adobe structure and architectural elements.
The permanent collection includes photographs of Cusco dancers wearing traditional attire, connecting contemporary photography with Peruvian heritage through artistic documentation.
MATE remains open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with wheelchair accessibility throughout the exhibition spaces.
The museum houses the final official portraits of Diana, Princess of Wales, taken by Mario Testino for Vanity Fair magazine in 1997.
