Alberto Andrade Carmona Park, Coastal park in Miraflores, Peru
Alberto Andrade Carmona Park is a coastal strip in Miraflores that runs along the Pacific shoreline with panoramic ocean views. The pathways are lined with colorful mosaic-covered walls created using the trencadís technique from Barcelona.
The park first opened its pathways in 1993 and took its current name in 2014 to honor a former Lima mayor. This renaming reflected the city's decision to commemorate local leadership in its public spaces.
The mosaic walls display poems in both Spanish and Quechua, reflecting the region's linguistic roots. Walking through the park shows how local traditions and artistic expression blend in this public space.
The park connects directly to the Miraflores boardwalk, making it simple to reach on foot from surrounding neighborhoods. Many eateries and shops line the area nearby, so food and supplies are easy to find during your visit.
A large bronze sculpture in the center shows a couple in an embrace and has become the park's most photographed feature. This artwork creates a striking visual focus against the colorful mosaic walls surrounding it.
