Malecón de la Reserva

The Malecón de la Reserva is a waterfront promenade running along the Pacific coast with walking paths, gardens, and overlooks above the ocean cliffs of Lima. The space weaves together multiple parks, dining options, and the Larcomar shopping center in one continuous route.

The promenade was designed by architect Augusto Benavides Diez Canseco and showcases early 20th-century mansions created by Ricardo de Jaxa Malachowski. These architectural elements shape the character of the location to this day.

Sculptures and artworks by Peruvian creators are spread throughout the space, turning the walk into an open-air gallery. These pieces reflect local artistic expression and are woven naturally into the landscape.

The promenade is easy to explore on foot and has several access points with good public transportation links. There is plenty of space to stop and rest, and visitors benefit from visiting early in the day or late afternoon for the best coastal views.

The Villena Rey Bridge connects this section to other parts of Lima's coastal path, creating one continuous pedestrian route along the ocean. This engineering link was a bold project that unified separate waterfront neighborhoods.
