Divine Mercy Sanctuary is a modern Catholic temple situated south of Guayaquil with a spacious main hall and bright white interior spaces. The building accommodates thousands of worshippers and includes underground burial niches beneath the main structure.
Construction began in 2009 and the main altar and dome were completed in 2011. Since then it has served as an important pilgrimage destination for Catholics in the region.
The sanctuary holds regular spiritual retreats and religious education programs in dedicated spaces designed for evangelization and community gatherings.
The sanctuary is located roughly 24 kilometers south of Guayaquil along the main highway and is easily accessible by car. Visiting hours are regular, and guests should wear modest clothing if attending services or special ceremonies.
A single massive stained glass window measuring around 288 square meters displays the Divine Mercy image and was designed by an Ecuadorian artist. This singular artwork covers nearly an entire wall and creates extraordinary light effects throughout the interior.
