Playa El Doradillo

Playa El Doradillo stretches 25 kilometers along the Nuevo Gulf coast, featuring golden sand, pebbles, and expansive views of the Atlantic Ocean in Patagonia.

The area became a protected natural reserve in 2001 to preserve the coastal ecosystem and provide safe habitat for southern right whales and native wildlife.

Local visitors and tourists gather at the beach to share mate while watching whales, creating a social tradition that combines Argentine customs with nature observation.

The beach is accessible via Route 1 and Route 42, located 15 kilometers north of Puerto Madryn, with well-marked roads leading to the coastal area.

Southern right whales approach within meters of the shore between June and October, making it one of the world's best locations for land-based whale watching.
