Playa El Doradillo stretches 25 kilometers along the Nuevo Gulf coast, featuring golden sand, pebbles, and expansive views of the Atlantic Ocean in Patagonia.

The area became a protected natural reserve in 2001 to preserve the coastal ecosystem and provide safe habitat for southern right whales and native wildlife.

The reserve was created in 2001 and covers 25 km from Punta Arco to Cerro Prismático, with Playa Manara, Canteras, Bañuls, Punta Ameghino, Casino, Garipe and Prismático among its beaches. The steppe behind the sand is shrubland of quilembay and jarilla, where guanacos, maras and foxes live.

Access is from Puerto Madryn, 15 km south, and the beach is busiest in summer. The land behind the sand is shrub steppe of quilembay and jarilla.

Southern right whales approach within meters of the shore between June and October, making it one of the world's best locations for land-based whale watching.
