Virrey Cevallos

Virrey Cevallos is a three-story building in the heart of Buenos Aires with classical architecture, iron-framed windows, and stone details on its facade. The structure now serves as a memorial and documentation center that preserves and presents the dark history of this site to the public.

Between 1976 and 1983, the Air Force Intelligence Service operated this building as a detention and torture center during Argentina's military dictatorship. This period was marked by systematic human rights violations that this site now commemorates.

The building displays accounts from survivors and their families through photographs and personal items from that era. Visitors encounter stories that reveal the human impact of what happened here.

Guided tours run from Tuesday to Sunday with specialists explaining the site's role in Argentine history through documented evidence. Visitors should allow enough time to fully explore the exhibits and rooms throughout the building.
