Corrientes Avenue is a major street in central Buenos Aires, Argentina, running for several kilometers from the port district to the western city area. It hosts theaters, bookstores, cafes, and shops along its entire length.
The street was first named Del Sol in the 1600s and underwent major reconstruction between 1930 and 1936. During this construction period, the famous city Obelisk was also built.
