Buenos Aires Historic Tramway, Transport museum in Caballito district, Buenos Aires, Argentina
The Buenos Aires Historic Tramway exhibits restored trams and operates a two-kilometer route through the streets of the Caballito neighborhood.
The tramway opened in 1980 through the Friends of the Tram Association, reviving the transportation method that served Buenos Aires from the 1860s to 1963.
Conductors in period uniforms guide visitors through the experience while sharing stories about the role of trams in Buenos Aires society.
The tramway operates on weekends and holidays, with rides lasting 25 minutes and departing every half hour from Emilio Mitre street.
Volunteers from the Federico Lacroze Association maintain and operate the vintage trams, offering free transportation services to the public.
