Buenos Aires Central Post Office, Beaux-Arts post office building in San Nicolás, Argentina
The former Central Post Office features French Neoclassical architecture with a grand entrance, domed central hall, and ornate interior decorations throughout its multiple levels.
French architect Norbert Maillart designed the structure in 1889, but financial difficulties during construction led to multiple interruptions until its completion in 1928.
The building transformed from a postal headquarters into the Néstor Kirchner Cultural Centre, hosting art exhibitions, performances, and community gatherings since 2015.
Located at 346 Calle Hipolito Bouchard in Buenos Aires, the building contains exhibition spaces spread across multiple floors with direct access to public transportation.
The construction required 2,882 steel pillars embedded 10 meters deep into the bedrock to support the massive structure on reclaimed land near Río de la Plata.
