Marquis of Sobremonte provincial historical museum

This museum occupies an 18th-century house built with thick adobe walls, tiled roofs, and stone-paved courtyards inside. The rooms retain their original surfaces and structural details that were typical of homes for people of means during that time.

This house was built in the middle of the 18th century and served as the residence of a local administrator from 1783 to 1796. After that period, it eventually became public property and was converted into a museum.

The exhibits show how wealthy families lived and what they valued during the Spanish colonial period in South America. You can see furniture, kitchen items, and clothing that reveal the daily rhythms and social habits of this era.
