Gualeguaychú Sambadrome, parade area for the samba schools in Gualeguaychu
The Gualeguaychú Sambadrome is a riverside amphitheatre built with multiple tiers of seating arranged along the riverbank. The structure holds about 40,000 spectators who can watch performances and parades from different viewing levels.
The amphitheatre opened in 1997 and became a turning point for carnival celebrations in the Entre Ríos region. The new venue allowed the community to host their festivities on a larger scale and with better conditions for watching.
This venue is the heart of Gualeguaychú's carnival, where the community gathers each Saturday to celebrate local dance groups and their colorful costumes. The event blends Brazilian samba traditions with Argentine style and creates a space where neighbors come together to honor their shared culture.
The venue is located about 230 kilometers from Buenos Aires and is easiest to reach by car. The seating areas offer shade, and there are several local restaurants and cafes nearby where you can eat before or after the event.
The seating design was specially created to give every spectator a clear view of the entire parade route. The open structure also shields visitors from intense heat and humidity during the hot summer nights when the event takes place.
