Museo Luis Alberto Solari

Museo Luis Alberto Solari occupies a 19th-century building with a Greek-Roman facade featuring four Corinthian columns and black and white checkered flooring in the main atrium. The interior layout includes a main hall for permanent displays and side rooms designed for rotating exhibitions.

The building was constructed in 1887 according to architect L. Bottani's designs and originally served as headquarters for the Cosmopolitan Society of Mutual Aid. It was transformed into a museum in 1989 to preserve artistic heritage.

The main hall features permanent works by Luis Alberto Solari, while side rooms change every two weeks to display national and international artists. This rotating approach means visitors often find different pieces on return visits, creating a sense of ongoing discovery.

The museum is located at 33 Orientales 3233 between Rincon and 18 de Julio streets and offers free admission. Guided tours with audiovisual materials about the artist are available to enhance your understanding of the works.

The entrance displays hand-carved Masonic symbols, including wheat spikes, representing brotherhood and mutual assistance from the building's original institutional purpose. These details remind visitors of the social history embedded in the space before it became an art venue.
