Cerro Tres Kandú, Mountain peak in General Eugenio A. Garay, Paraguay.
Cerro Tres Kandú is a mountain peak in General Eugenio A. Garay rising to 842 meters with dense vegetation covering the slopes. A marked trail with 15 stations guides hikers to the summit.
The mountain remained unaffected during the last glacial period and retained its natural state while Aché indigenous people inhabited the surrounding lands. The region maintained stable environmental conditions throughout this time.
The mountain is home to diverse native plants and wildlife that visitors can observe during the climb. Local communities use this place to share traditional knowledge about the natural environment.
Access to the mountain must be arranged through the Naturaleza Pura organization, which manages operations on-site. Toilets, parking, and camping areas are available at the base.
The summit has a shelter structure where travelers can stay overnight with sleeping bags and enjoy views of the towns Gral Garay and San Juan Nepomuceno. This makes it one of the few mountain sites in the region offering overnight accommodation.
