Praia do Rosa

Praia do Rosa is a beach on the southern Santa Catarina coast that opens between green hills and forms a natural bay. The wide sandy expanse meets clear waters and features a blend of open shoreline and sheltered areas, making it suitable for both swimming and exploring.

The area began as a fishing village where local people depended on the region's abundant fish stocks. During the 1970s, surfers discovered the consistent waves and transformed it into a destination for water sports enthusiasts.

The name comes from the pinkish rock formations along the shore, reflecting the local connection to the coastal landscape. Visitors experience this relationship firsthand through community events that celebrate marine life and ocean conservation throughout the year.

From June to November, Southern Right Whales migrate into the protected waters offshore, making this one of Brazil's primary observation sites. This natural event draws visitors each year who get the chance to witness these giant animals from a safe distance.
