Estádio Adolfo Konder, Entertainment center in downtown Florianópolis, Brazil.
The Estádio Adolfo Konder was a football stadium in downtown Florianópolis, built on a large plot between Mauro Ramos Avenue and Bocaiúva Street with a natural grass pitch. The venue sat surrounded by urban buildings right in the heart of the city center.
The stadium opened on March 11, 1930 with a match between Avaí and Tamandaré, which Avaí won 3-0. It became a major sporting venue for the city during the early decades of the 20th century.
The stadium became famous for its afternoon matches where office workers would leave their jackets behind to attend games, earning these events the local nickname "jacket games". This practice reflected how central the venue was to the city's everyday rhythm and working life.
The stadium had no lighting systems, so all matches and events took place during daylight hours only. This meant that visitors had to plan their attendance around afternoon times when natural light was sufficient.
On May 13, 1945, the stadium hosted the highest-scoring match in Brazilian football history when Avaí defeated Paula Ramos 21-3. This extraordinary result remains an unusual record in the annals of South American football to this day.
