Parque Ecológico do Guarapiranga

Parque Ecologico do Guarapiranga is a protected area of about 250 hectares with natural trails, sports facilities, and a landscaped lake surrounded by Atlantic Forest vegetation. The grounds offer different spaces to explore, from nature-like paths to designed areas for recreational activities.

The park was founded in 1999 to protect the local ecosystem and maintain the ecological balance around the Guarapiranga reservoir. Its creation was a response to the need to secure the water storage facility and surrounding habitats for the long term.

The Waste Museum inside the park displays exhibits about environmental challenges and sustainable practices that encourage visitors to think about their impact. The displays engage people who want to understand local environmental issues better.

The grounds are accessible daily and offer parking along with clear paths that are easy to walk. Visitors should bring comfortable shoes and be ready for changing weather conditions, as the park requires spending time outdoors.

An elevated walkway of about 500 meters connects the park's main buildings while preventing ground damage. This design allows visitors to move around while protecting the natural ground beneath their feet.
