Cubatão

Cubatão sits at the base of Serra do Mar mountain range and houses major petroleum refineries and steel manufacturing facilities near Santos port. The city functions as a key processing and logistics hub for São Paulo state.

Established in 1833 as a small settlement, the city transformed into a major industrial hub starting in 1948 through municipal consolidation. This shift made it one of the region's largest manufacturing centers.
