Parque da Mônica is an indoor amusement park located inside SP Market shopping center in São Paulo, Brazil. The facility offers rides and themed zones based on characters from the popular Brazilian comic books created by Maurício de Sousa.
The first Parque da Mônica opened on 10 January 1993 at Shopping Eldorado in São Paulo, the first indoor theme park in Brazil, and closed on 16 February 2010. A new park opened on 4 July 2015 at Shopping SP Market, replacing O Mundo da Xuxa. The 9 million visitors were counted over the Eldorado park's 17 years, not after 2015.
The name comes from Mônica, the main character in a Brazilian comic series that generations of readers grew up with across the country. Families often visit together, recognizing the characters from books they read as children and now share with their own kids.
The park occupies over 15,000 m² inside the SP Market shopping center in Campo Grande, south São Paulo, and holds up to 3,000 visitors at once. It is fully indoor, so visits are unaffected by weather. Food points inside include a McDonald's, a Go Natural food truck and the Frutaria da Magali.
The Montanha Russa do Astronauta is a steel roller coaster designed for younger guests, offering gentle curves and a manageable ride. Nearby, themed areas like Coelhadas nas Estrelas and Posto do Bidu recreate scenes and settings from specific comic stories.
