Bosque Maia, Municipal park in Guarulhos, Brazil

Bosque Maia is the largest urban park in Guarulhos, about 170,000 m² in the Jardim Maia neighbourhood, bounded by Avenida Paulo Faccini, Avenida Papa João XXIII and Rua Antônio Vita. Its grounds hold a 3 km walking and running track, trails through upper forest, four multipurpose courts, a capoeira court, a skate park, a BMX area, an outdoor gym, springs and an artificial lake with a landscaped bridge.

The park was created in 1972 on the grounds of a farm belonging to the family of the São Paulo physician Renato Maia. In 2000, Municipal Decree 21.143/2000 listed it as municipal public heritage through Guarulhos's Council for Historical, Archaeological, Architectural and Landscape Heritage. Between 2001 and 2008, under mayor Elói Pietá, it gained sports and leisure facilities.

The park's name comes from Renato Maia, the São Paulo doctor whose family owned the farm on this land; locals call it Bosque Maia while the official name is Recanto Municipal da Árvore. In 2000 the Conselho Municipal do Patrimônio Histórico, Arqueológico, Arquitetônico e Paisagístico listed it under Decree 21.143/2000. The events square hosts sports and leisure gatherings.

Natural springs emerge from the ground within the park, creating part of the water system found there. A landscaped bridge crosses the artificial lake and serves as a distinctive focal point for visitors.
