Ponte do Saber

Ponte do Saber is a cable-stayed bridge on Ilha do Fundao that spans roughly 780 meters across the water. A tall central tower rises nearly 100 meters and supports the roadway through a system of steel cables.

The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro opened this bridge in 2012 as a key connection to its campus. Built from concrete and steel cables, it marked an important moment for the island's urban development.
