Ponte do Saber

The Ponte do Saber extends 780 meters across the water with its main tower reaching a height of 95.5 meters and supporting cables.

The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro inaugurated this concrete and wire rope bridge on February 17, 2012, to connect their campus with the city.

This bridge represents postmodern architecture through its structural design, integrating educational infrastructure with urban transportation systems in Rio de Janeiro.

The 11.3-meter-wide bridge provides direct access between the university campus and the Red Line expressway leading to downtown Rio de Janeiro.

The structure functions as both a physical connection for the university and a symbol of educational progress, reflected in its name Bridge of Knowledge.
