Aguja del Diablo, Mountain summit in Serra dos Órgãos National Park, Brazil

Aguja del Diablo is a needle-shaped mountain summit in Serra dos Órgãos National Park, rising to approximately 2050 meters. The formation features sheer rock walls on multiple sides that create a distinctive vertical profile when viewed from surrounding areas.

The first documented ascent took place in the early 1900s, opening new climbing routes for future mountaineers in the region. Those early expeditions established the foundation for modern climbing development in the park.

The location is known locally among climbers as Agulha do Diabo in Portuguese, reflecting the bilingual naming tradition in this mountaineering region. This name choice reveals how different language communities have shaped the area's geography and culture over time.

Visitors reach the summit via the Camino de las Orquídeas trail, which starts from the base point and winds through the surrounding landscape. Good physical fitness and climbing equipment are necessary, as the route features steep sections and can become slippery in wet conditions.

The vertical rock faces offer natural climbing lines that rise from the dense Atlantic Forest below all the way to the summit. This combination of pristine nature and technical climbing challenges attracts rock climbers from around the world.
