Auriflama is a municipality in São Paulo State located in southeastern Brazil. The town sits at an elevation of around 595 meters and encompasses various residential and rural areas across its territory.
The settlement was founded in 1937 as Vila Áurea and received its current name Auriflama in 1944. It gained municipal status in 1953 and became an administrative division within São Paulo State.
The municipal education system maintains three preschools, six elementary schools, and two high schools, serving the local population of 15,253 residents.
The town serves as a local administrative center with shops and services typical of a Brazilian municipality. Getting around is straightforward, with basic accommodation and food options available for visitors.
The name comes from Latin words meaning golden flame. This name replaced earlier designations like Vila Pacheco and Vila Áurea from the settlement's earliest days.
