Praia Azeda

Praia Azeda is a small cove in Buzios featuring clear water and white sand encircled by rock formations that rise from the seabed. These natural barriers shield swimmers from strong ocean currents in the wider bay.

The cove gained attention in the 1960s after a famous French actress visited Buzios, sparking increased interest in the area. This moment marked when the region began to attract visitors beyond local communities.

Fishermen work from the rocks throughout the day, maintaining practices passed down through generations at this location. Their boats and equipment are a regular sight that shapes the character of the cove.

The cove is reachable on foot from the town center via a coastal path that takes roughly 15 minutes to walk. Small vendors stationed along the way and on the sand sell drinks and light food options.

The cove remains free from large-scale commercial construction, setting it apart from busier nearby beaches in the region. This absence of development gives it a quieter, more low-key character compared to more popular spots along the coast.
