Sarah Kubitschek City Park, Urban park in Asa Sul, Brasília, Brazil.
Sarah Kubitschek City Park is a large green space in Asa Sul featuring artificial lakes, walking paths, sports courts, and cycling tracks throughout its grounds. The layout includes separate areas designed for different types of recreation and activities.
The grounds were inaugurated in 1978 by President Ernesto Geisel under a different name, Rogério Pithon Farias. The site was renamed in 1997 to honor Sarah Kubitschek.
The Eduardo and Monica Plaza within the space features a guitar sculpture with musical notes, honoring the famous Legião Urbana song. This spot serves as a gathering place for those who connect with the band's legacy.
The site offers playgrounds, sports courts, restaurants, and an equestrian center spread across the grounds. Visitors should wear comfortable footwear since recreational areas are distributed throughout the space.
Within the grounds sits an abandoned Wave Pool structure that served as a major draw until the 1990s. This deserted facility offers a glimpse into an earlier chapter of the site's development.
