Estádio Antônio Accioly, Football stadium in Goiânia, Brazil
Estádio Antônio Accioly, known as Castelo do Dragão, is a football stadium in Goiânia with a natural grass pitch marked by white boundary and penalty-area lines and a white goal frame with netting at each end. Its stands are fully covered, and a curved white roof section above one end bears the words "CONSTRUINDO" and "ARENA". Capacity is 12,500.
The stadium's land, 18,000 square metres, was donated in 1942 by state governor Pedro Ludovico Teixeira to Atlético Clube Goianiense, and the ground was inaugurated on 14 September 1947. It closed for reforms in the early 1980s and reopened in 1984 with a women's match between Atlético and Vila Nova. After near-demolition in the early 2000s, it was rebuilt from 2005 and renovated from late 2017, reaching 12,500 seats in 2020.
Fans call the ground Castelo do Dragão, the Dragon's Castle, after Atlético Clube Goianiense's nickname. Its record crowd of 12,089 watched Atlético beat rivals Goiás 1-0 in the 2022 Goiano championship final on 26 March. In 1996 the stadium hosted a concert by Colombian singer Shakira on her Pies Descalzos tour.
The stadium sits in the Campinas neighbourhood of Goiânia and belongs to Atlético Clube Goianiense, which plays its regional, national and international matches here. All stands are covered. The 2020 adjustments added a VAR room, new reserve benches, LED floodlights and improved field drainage.
The stadium's record attendance of 12,089 was set on 26 March 2022, in the Goiano Championship final, when Atlético beat rivals Goiás 1-0. The ground is nicknamed Castelo do Dragão, the Dragon's Castle, after the club's dragon emblem.
