Nerópolis

Nerópolis is an administrative municipality in central Goiás. The town functions as a major distribution hub and hosts numerous industrial facilities involved in garlic trading and confectionery production.

Settlement began in 1894 when Joaquim Taveira established Matinha dos Taveiras, which underwent several name changes over the decades. The current name Nerópolis was adopted in 1930 from this early founding.

The town hosts the Goian Circuit of Juninas Quadrilhas, a traditional dance competition where performers from across the region gather to celebrate. This event shapes community life and keeps local dance traditions alive in people's daily celebrations.
