Coreto da Praça da Matriz

The Coreto da Praça da Matriz is a bandstand located in the central square of Feira de Santana, featuring eight metal columns that support a dome topped with a lantern. A prominent staircase leads up to the raised octagonal platform where performers stand.

The bandstand was constructed in 1916 by the organizing committee of the Festa de Santana and later designated as a protected heritage site. It represents an era when such structures were central to local musical life.

Local philharmonic bands such as Filarmônica 25 de Março perform here during religious celebrations, with musicians playing from the raised platform. These gatherings form part of the community's calendar and draw people who enjoy outdoor music performances.

The bandstand is located on Praça da Matriz, where it is easily accessible on foot from various sides of the square. The best views of the structure and performances are obtained by positioning yourself within the square itself, at a comfortable distance from the stage.

The metal structure was assembled from pre-fabricated iron components imported from Europe, giving it a refined appearance. These imported parts reflect the city's international connections during the period of its construction.
