Buraquinho Beach

Buraquinho Beach is a coastal area with soft sand and coconut palms where a river flows into the Atlantic Ocean. The landscape brings together freshwater and saltwater environments in one setting.

The area grew from a traditional fishing settlement into a modern coastal destination. Its maritime past remains visible in the fishing practices that continue here today.

Fishermen still work the waters daily, and their catch appears fresh in the restaurants and markets near the shore. This living practice connects visitors directly to the local maritime way of life.

Visit early in the morning when conditions for water activities are at their best. Equipment for paddling and kayaking is available to rent on site.

At low tide, natural pools form along the shoreline near the river mouth where the water is shallow. These seasonal formations create special swimming areas that appear and disappear with the tides.
