Art Museum of Belém

The Art Museum of Belém is housed in the Antônio Lemos Palace and presents Brazilian and international art collections across several exhibition spaces. The neoclassical building sits near the Amazon River and offers a mix of artworks from different periods and styles.

The palace was built in the late 1800s when Belém experienced economic growth from rubber production and construction of important buildings flourished. The structure reflects the prosperity of that period and was later transformed into an art museum.
