Catedral Metropolitana Nossa Senhora das Dores

The Catedral Metropolitana Nossa Senhora das Dores is a Catholic cathedral in central Teresina with white walls and two towers standing symmetrically above the entrance. The building displays neoclassical design with clean lines and balanced proportions.

Construction began in 1865 and finished in 1871, making it the first major religious building in the city. It was later elevated to the episcopal seat of the Diocese of Piaui, which solidified its importance to the Catholic Church.
