Glória do Goitá

Glória do Goitá is a municipality in the Zona da Mata Pernambucana region, located about 75 kilometers from Recife. The town sits at an elevation of 211 meters and spans 231 square kilometers, with the Capibaribe River running through it to support local farming.

The municipality grew from a 19th-century settlement into an important administrative center in Pernambuco. This development placed it as a connection between larger urban areas in the region.

The town centers on agricultural traditions that shape daily life, with local markets displaying regional products and regular celebrations of northeastern Brazilian music. These customs create spaces where the community gathers and shares its cultural identity.
